wedding suite: gatsby
If Daisy Married Gatsby.
The Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. Beside towering champagne flutes of bubbly. In a great hall dripping with blooms. When Prema and Javier came to us with the concept of their wedding, we were immediately transported to all things gold and grandiose for the invitation. Their only stipulation: no silver. Easy.
We designed an art deco-themed suite around a supplied image by the clients, to pull together the look + feel of gatsby-esque drama. The invitation itself was letterpress printed in matte gold and paired with art elements in a glittering, metallic gold, foiled on a soft-touch matte cover stock. The reply card was letterpressed in black on an irrisdescent textured white stock for contrast and mailed back in a matching matte black, soft touch envelope with the return address letterpressed in gold. The reception card was also letterpressed in gold on black, but the menu card was letterpressed in black on a metallic gold cover stock. Wrapped up in a gold band and tucked in a gold envelope, you could just barely hear echoes of the soireé through the night…
